First, the spirit of my Sex Confessional idea was very much “tell me your secrets, and I’ll post them!” without any mention of censoring them. If someone wants to send in something I don’t like, I want to abide by my agreement even if it’s hard. That’s what makes this interesting to me: so many voices come through, and some of them are unpleasant but that’s all part of my “experiment” here.

Second, to me there’s more to gain than lose in spreading the word that some people might think and act in these ways and not admit it to the people closest to them. To me it’s a good reminder that people can lie about some pretty nasty motives and opinions. I wish I’d had some vague, anonymous clues as to how manipulative my ex was, or even a parable of a similar guy who was secretly as evil.

My intention isn’t to rubber stamp all these statements, but I do stand by my decision to present them all and not just the ones I like. But yeah, some of these do kind of upset me, and I totally agree that it’s a problematic choice.
